The weather is calm. The aircraft is performing normally. The lights of Florida are almost within reach. There is no reason for anyone aboard to believe they are participating in one of aviation's most enduring mysteries!

Then the radio begins to crackle.

The crew reports nothing alarming, only that communications have become weak. A final, fragmented transmission follows. Somewhere within the static comes a strange mention of an unfamiliar cube seen briefly inside the cabin. It is confusing, almost dismissive, as though no one aboard fully understands what they have witnessed. Then silence. The aircraft vanishes with land nearly in sight. No distress call. No confirmed wreckage. No explanation that has managed to satisfy investigators in the nearly eighty years since.
