As many of you know by now, I don't care to use just plain water in my splashes, when I believe you get much more scent mileage with a flower or essence water. I find it provides a greater shape and depth to the overall accord and at this point, a kind of signature for me as a perfumer. \u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eMind you, I had nowhere near enough heartwood to procure more than a drop of precious sandalwood essential oil, but enough for the most amazing hydrosol ever!\u003c\/span\u003e The entire lab smelled amazing, I \u003cspan\u003eImagined myself in an underground, secret lab located somewhere deep in \u003cem\u003ea sandalwood forest!\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eFrom there it was time to begin building the scent from the bottom up, which is how perfuming historically works; Base Note first, Heart second, Top Note last. But in this case, I was working with all base notes!\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eSo I separated the oils by viscosity, using the thickest, slowest moving first! When I say slow moving I mean it, some of these oils must be soaked in a hot water bath to make them thin enough to use in a dropper!
